I was watching Something the Lord Made yesterday before I went to sleep. It is now one of the more inspirational movies I have seen along with Goodwill Hunting and Finding Forrester and got me interested in the whole medical thing as an outlook for my future career. I really find that I want to help people with what I do in the future, and at the same time find it an enjoyable job. Isn't that the dream job for anyone? For the longest time I thought that medicine and medical work/treatment wouldn't be a field I would want to go into just because it calls for such precision on the first try...something I'm not great at. But yeah, looking at all the possibilities in medicine and medical bioengineering got me thinking that it might be something I could enjoy, and that my lack of precision could be something that would just be fixed as I continued studies.
So I looked at the best schools for the type of work. Johns Hopkins is at the top. Only problem: January 2nd deadline for 1st year applicant. I hate figuring things out late. Too bad for me, I guess.
Last day for me in Thousand Oaks. I'll be gone for five months in Potsdamn, including spring break since I'm planning on trekking with the EWB Clarkson Team to Ecuador (still debating whether or not its worth it). In the meantime, the family is moving out to the southern OC area, about two hours away from TO (closer to San Diego than LA i think). So basically its goodbye after today. Heh, so many memories still here...maybe I'll move back after college is done. I find it hard to imagine me leaving this place, no matter how many times I've hypocritically complained about the city. All the more reason I'm finding it equally difficult to decide on whether to go to Ecuador or to stay with the family during the move since break is most likely when it will take place.
On the bright side, I am bringing a self-heating cooking pot to make 라면 with instead of the cheap "pour water up to the engraved line" soup. Who knows, since most people there eat the Maruchan noodles that have no flavor, maybe I will start a 라면 business... :)
Time to finish packing.
